Our Healthy Schools Committee looks at how we can keep ourselves and others safe and healthy. This could include the types of food we eat, having peer mentors to talk to at lunch breaks or putting up safety signs around the school. We are also part of the ‘Bike It’ scheme that looks at ways we can encourage more people to cycle, scooter or walk to school. We have regular events such as ‘The Big Pedal’ and we have recently built a large cycle shed to accommodate all the extra bicycles and scooters coming to school. On our Healthy Schools Agenda we are next looking at ways we can encourage healthy snacks at first break and possibly setting up a healthy tuck shop on the playground.
