We recognise the importance of challenging all ability levels so that they are motivated to learn and are able to reach their full potential. We use test data, parent feedback, pupil feedback and teacher nomination to identify children who are working in the top 10% of their cohort for a given subject. For this group of children we offer the following provision:
|Core Subjects – English Mathematics and Science||Foundation Subjects – Art DT and PE||Activities in class designed to stretch the children. Opportunities for independent learning. Extra-Curricular Activities. Mentoring of younger children. Personalised learning and targets through Target Time.|
We also identify children that are working in the top 2% nationally for a given subject (Exceptionally Able). These children have the same provision as above but will be given an educational plan to cater for their educational need.
